Direct exposure to sun rays can lead to pigmentation, sunburns, and wrinkles. Sunscreen can protect the skin from the sun's harmful rays.

SPF is a sun protection factor. The factors tell you how long the sunscreen can protect from ultraviolet rays.

A sunscreen with various SPF and its blocking capacity of solar energy is explained below. SPF 15 blocks about 93% of UVB. SPF 30 blocks about 97% of UVB. SPF 50 blocks about 98% of UVB.

How much sunscreen do I need?

The requirement for sunscreen will depend on the type of skin. A fair-skinned person will absorb more solar energy than a dark-skinned person. 

The intensity of sun exposure will also impact the usage of sunscreen. For example, The intensity of sun rays differs from time to time. The intensity will be higher at 1 pm when compared to 9 am.

Exposure to the sun in the morning will not cause skin damage compared to exposure to the sun at 1 pm in the afternoon. The solar intensity can also differ depending on the geographic location. 

How to buy a sunscreen?

Choose sunscreen depending on the skin type and exposure to the sun. For daily use, SPF 30 is suitable. But if you expose yourself to direct sun, choose a sunscreen with SPF 50 or more.
