PMJAY Health Insurance Application Process

 

 

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) or Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a flagship scheme managed by the Indian Government. It aims to provide necessary financial support to the economically weaker section so that they can afford top-notch healthcare services.

Launched in September 2018, the health insurance schemes under PMJAY provide their beneficiaries with a maximum insured sum of Rs. 5 Lakhs. To avail of this offer, you have to follow a standardised procedure.

 

PMJAY Enrollment Process

There is no such enrollment procedure as the PMJAY scheme, which is an entitlement-based program launched to protect the poor classes of society. Any individual who fulfils the conditions mentioned in SECC 11 and is already part of the RSBY plan will be considered qualified for this scheme.

 

Therefore, if you want to find out whether you are eligible for the PMJAY program, then consider following these steps:

 

Step 1: Visit the official government portal dedicated to the PMJAY and click on the ‘Am I Eligible’ icon. 

Step 2: Generate an OTP by entering your mobile number.

Step 3: Enter your state name.

Step 4: Next, initiate a search by specifying your mobile number/ name/ ration card number/ HHD number. 

Step 5: Verify your PMJAY eligibility status as shown on your device screen.

If you find yourself to be eligible, consider contacting the Ayushman Bharat Yojana customer care. You may either reach out to a particular Empanelled Health Care Provider (EHCP) or call at 1800-111-565 or 14555 when you are free.

 

Documents Required to Apply for PMJAY Health Insurance

To apply for the PMJAY health scheme, you must produce these documents:

  • Identity and age-proof documents (Aadhaar card/ PAN card)
  • Caste certificate
  • Certain specific details like your primary phone number, residential address and email ID
  • Income certificate
  • Documents that declare your family’s current financial status.

 

Procedure to Download Your PMJAY Card Online

For paperless and cashless transactions using the PMJAY scheme, you must secure the golden card. To download it, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the PMJAY website and enter your account by providing the registered phone number.

Step 2: Verify the ‘CAPTCHA” to receive an OTP on the phone number.

Step 3: Choose the HHD code option.

Step 4: Give the HHD code to the CSC or Common Service Centre. They typically run some standard procedures to verify your HHD and other details.

 

 

After this, you do not have any specific role. The Ayushman Mitra team or the CSC representatives take care of the rest of the process from thereon. You will be asked to pay Rs. 30 to receive the physical card.
