How do you qualify for the Dr. YSR Aarogyasri Health Card?

 

To qualify for the Aarogyasri Health Card, applicants must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Residency: Must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
  • Income Limit: Annual family income should be less than ₹5 lakh.(salary certificate evidence)
  • Ration Card: Possession of a White Ration Card is mandatory.(All rice card holders are eligible)
  • Land Ownership: Total land holding should not exceed 35 acres (wet and dry combined).
  • Property Tax: Families paying municipal property tax for a residential property of less than 3000 square feet are eligible.
  • Vehicle Ownership: Should not own more than one four-wheeler vehicle.
  • Government Employees: State government employees and pensioners are generally excluded, except for specific categories like outsourced employees and honorarium-based workers. Employees: Any employee, other than permanent Government employee/ pensioner, whose annual income is less than or upto Rs.5.00 Lakhs is eligible. It includes outsourcing, Contract, Part time employees, Sanitary workers, Honorarium based employees working in Government sector and employees of Private sector.
  • Special Categories: Members of the Antyodaya Anna Yojana and families identified by the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) as Below the Poverty Line (BPL) are also eligible.
  • Families which are eligible for YSR Pension Kanuka Cardand Jagananna Vidya and VasathiDeevena Card are also 
  • Income Tax Payers: Families who are filing Income TaxReturns for annual income up to Rs.5.00 Lakhs are eligible (Income Tax Return evidence)

How do I apply for the Aarogyasri Health Card?

 

Applicants can apply for the Aarogyasri Health Card through the following methods:

 

1 Online Application:

 

  • Visit the official Navasakam portal or the Grama Ward Sachivalayam portal.
  • Log in and select the Aarogyasri Health Card application link.
  • Fill out the application form with the required information.
  • Upload necessary documents such as income certificate, ration card, and address proof.
  • Submit the application and print a copy for reference.

 

2 Offline Application:

 

  • Download the application form from the official portal.

Are There Any Exclusions Under the Aarogyasri Health Scheme?

 

The Aarogyasri scheme does not cover the following:

 

  • Outpatient consultations and diagnostics
  • Cosmetic procedures
  • Organ transplantation (except in specific pre-authorized cases)
  • Experimental or non-standard therapies
  • Conditions already covered under other specific government schemes

 

Maternity benefits, routine deliveries, and immunizations are usually handled under the Thalli Bidda Express Scheme or Janani Suraksha Yojana, not Aarogyasri.

 

What Happens in Case of Emergency Admissions?

 

In emergency situations, treatment can begin immediately at any empanelled hospital. The hospital is mandated to submit pre-authorization documents within 24 hours of admission. Emergency coverage includes trauma, burns, strokes, and cardiac arrests.

 

Is Re-Enrollment or Renewal Required?

 

No separate renewal is required as long as the White Ration Card remains active and the linked Aadhaar data is current. The scheme conducts periodic eligibility checks based on income tax returns, property records, and SECC database updates. If disqualified, the cardholder is notified via SMS or village secretariat officers.
