DSR Tablet full form in medical terms, stands for Domperidone Prolonged Release capsules. DSR Tablet is a combination of two medicines, namely Domperidone and Rabeprazole. This combination helps treat acidity and heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). 


Acidity is a medical condition where an excess amount of acid is produced in the stomach.  


Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) refers to a chronic medical condition in which stomach acid frequently flows back up into the esophagus, resulting in the heartburn and other symptoms.

 

A Brief History of DSR Tablet Full Form Medically  


DSR Tablet Full Form could be justified by its working. As mentioned above, DSR Capsule combines two medicines, Domperidone and Rabeprazole. 

 

  • Domperidone refers to a prokinetic that works over the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, permitting the food to move easily through the stomach. 
  • Rabeprazole refers to a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that functions by lowering the acid amount in the stomach, which helps inrelieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.

Tips for DSR Tablet Usage

  •  Generally, the DSR Tablet is taken one hour before the meal, mostly in the morning.
  • It serves as a well-tolerated medicine and offers relief for a long time. 
  • Make sure that you inform your doctor if you get watery diarrhoea,  stomach pain or fever. 
  • Inform your doctor if you are not feeling well after taking it for 14 days as you might suffer from other problem that requires attention. 
  • Long-term use could result in the weak bones and deficiency of minerals like  magnesium. Take enough dietary intake of calcium and magnesium or their supplements as per the doctor’s prescription. 
  • Warning: Before you begin to take this medicine, it is most important to tell your doctor if you suffer from kidney or liver disease. You must also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or else breastfeeding.
